Child Custody / Time Sharing
The most important aspect of my practice concerns the representation of parties when children are involved, be it an adoption of another aspect. Children are our future; our future leaders, associates and caregivers. A time will come when we must rely on them for assistance and direction.
It is our responsibility to give them appropriate assistance and direction. When those children are required to deal and interact with two families or more, life becomes difficult. Often times they are pulled between one parent and another, not certain of what to say or how to act. When grandparents, foster parents or even more distant caregivers are involved things can get very complicated. During their developmental years, this situation becomes even more critical. The best interests of the child or children is what is important and must remain our goal and directive.
When filing an action for Third Party or Grandparents Rights, or on the other end of the spectrum seeking to terminate a parent’s rights, it is imperitive that we tread lightly to ensure that things are handled appropriately. Children need parents, as well as more distant relatives. After all, families form the fabric from which we are all made. My goal is to work with my clients to secure not only their interests but more importantly to work collectively toward what is in the best interests of the children involved. Our future depends on it.
